Founded by five LA moms in 2014, Alliance of Moms is a membership-based auxiliary group that supports the work of the Alliance for Children’s Rights. We are a new generation of philanthropists whose mission is to break the intergenerational cycle of babies born to teens in foster care. More than a quarter of girls in foster care become mothers by the age of 17. 40% of these young mothers have a second child in their teenage years. 66% of their babies will become teen mothers themselves. Alliance of Moms feels a natural affinity for this vulnerable population. We recognize that pregnant and parenting foster teens may not have had the best parenting role models. We create educational programs to provide these young moms and dads with practical tools that empower them to become informed parents who can give their babies a healthier childhood than their own.

Our flagship program, Raising Baby, has a curriculum focused on infant care and early brain development. We invite 100 young parents in foster care participate in expert-led workshops while Alliance of Moms member volunteers care for their children. Our other programs include +Baby and Raising Foodies, classes for pregnant and parenting foster teens living in St. Anne's Residential Facility in Silverlake; Self Care Day, a full day workshop where young moms learn healthy habits that will help them develop secure attachments to their babies; and Cocktails & Conversation, monthly evenings where we encourage members to introduce their friends to our work. Our partners include The Honest Company, Ergobaby, LOOM, Too Small to Fail Initiative, and Echo Parenting.
